Coming home...
July 1, 2010: Madang, Papua New Guinea: Why do we leave the comforts and safety of our home to go to a far away place; to people that we do not know; at tremendous expense to ourselves and to others? This morning I was roused from sleep just prior to sunrise and captured this photo, just hours before we leave Papua New Guinea. We have come to love and to serve and to be an example, a beacon of light (Matthew 5:13-16) to a people whose lives and hardships are legions greater than our own. Yet as I walked along the ocean this morning, I can’t forget my own humanity and where I have come from (Titus 3:3-8). Thank you for being part of our team!

Reading your blog has been a blessing and a challenge to me personally to continue to remember the lost, poor and hurting of this world. Thank you for sharing your family's journey - we can't wait to see you again soon, but we are so thankful for your willingness to go and serve. What a blessing you are to all around you!
